The Nishan Public school was founded
in the memory of Late S. Nishan Singh
Bhinder on 21st Oct. 1990. Hailing
from a landlord family of Lohianwala,
Dist.Gujranwala,West Punjab(Pakistan),
he migrated to Karnal during the partition
in 1947.Love for promotion of education,
particularly amongst the underprivileged
was in his genes. His father S.Rattan
Singh Bhinder,an engineer and mother,
a home maker inspired many rural boys
and girls to pursue education.A number
of needy students were sponsored by
him to complete their education.
The
promoters of Nishan Public School
could not have thought of a better
tribute to Sardar Nishan Singh Bhinder
than to run an educational institute
to perpetuate his love for promotion
of quality education.

The
School is managed by Sardar Nishan Singh
Bhinder Educational Society, Karnal
registered under the Societies Registration
Act XXI 1860.The School was started
with classes LKG to VI in April 1991
to impart broad-based education to boys
and girls with an aim to develop their
minds and also their physique, skills,
personality and leadership traits to
shape them into worthy and dynamic citizens.

Maj. R.S. Bhinder is the founder Director
of Nishan Public School, Karnal. He
is an alumnus of the Punjab Public
School, Nabha, the National Defense
Academy, Kharakvasla and the Indian
Military Academy, Dehra Dun. He was
commissioned into the Indian Army
in 1976.During the tenure in the Army
he held various appointments dealing
with administration, finance, material
management and computers.

He
took premature retirement from the Army
in 1990 and has since then been working
for the noble cause of education. Under
his able guidance and efficient administration
the roots of NPS have spread wide, irrigated
by the most efficient and dedicated
staff.

The
Nishan Public School is an English
medium co-ed., residential-cum-day
school. The School has a strength
of the over 650 students including
150 boarders. The school is approved
by CBSE vide code No 530139.

CAMPUS
AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Broad
based learning can be best achieved in a supportive
environment with high level of care. The school campus
is spread over an area of 9 acres located amidst verdant
and picturesque surroundings in a totally pollution
free environment in the countryside. The school is well
equipped with adequate infrastructure and additions
and improvement are being periodically carried out.

An
academic block with covered area of 15000 sq.ft. contains
classrooms, laboratories and library. The classrooms
are large, airy with sufficient light. Adequate toilets
and filtered water is provided through water coolers.
|
|
Residential
accommodation (10,000 sq.ft), separately for boys and
girls consists of dorms, common rooms and is equipped
with television, music system and desert coolers, water
coolers (with filters) and indoor games. At present
the school has accommodation for 150 boarders, which
will be increased in phases to cater for 400 boarders.

A
modern dining hall (4000 sq.ft) is managed and maintained
by the school itself to provide hygienic palatable and
nutritious diet.

A
separate office block and residential accommodation
has been provided for campus teachers and other staff.
|
|
Sports
complex consists of 25 m X 10 m swimming pool and fields
for all major and minor games. |
